5x (haalbare) groene voornemens voor 2025

5x (achievable) green resolutions for 2025

Forget New Year’s resolutions, go for green resolutions this year! Good for you and the planet. We share our five favorite green resolutions for 2025:

1. Refill, recycle and repair

With these 3 r's your life will become a lot more sustainable in one go: refill, recycle and repair. Is your shampoo bottle empty? Use our refills! Do you have empty packaging, old paper or glass? Throw them in the right bin, then it can be recycled! And is a device broken? Or do you have a hole in your pants? Have it repaired at a Repair Café near you. Done in a jiffy and very sustainable!

2. Declutter

Can't see the house anymore because of all your stuff? Then it's time to declutter! Bring everything that is still usable, but that you no longer use, to the thrift store or put it on a Market Place or Vinted. Also fun: organize a garage sale for friends, family and neighbors. It may be a bit of a job, but once it's cleaned up, it will give you a lot of peace and space in your house and head. And if from that moment on you only buy the really necessary things, the planet will also be very grateful.

3. Make your daily routine more sustainable

See it as a challenge to make your daily routine more sustainable. Think of: shorter showers (with our sustainable soapies of course), less washing, cleaning without harmful substances , separating and reducing waste, leaving the car at home more often - or better yet: car out of the door, heating low (and sweater on), and so on. Every adjustment is a step towards a more sustainable life and an encouragement for your friends and neighbors to do the same!

4. Participate in a sustainable challenge or action in 2025

Participate in the Week Without Meat and Dairy (March 3-9, 2025), the Week Without Waste (May 19-25, 2025), the Buy Nothing News challenge (you can start now) and/or the National Climate Week (dates not yet known)! Such a challenge will give you a wealth of new insights and give your sustainable life a boost. Also fun: organize your own sustainable challenge and challenge your friends to join in!

A week without microplastics

Try to live a week without microplastics! It's harder than you think, because microplastics are everywhere. In this blog you can read how to avoid microplastics.

5. Make your home more sustainable

A more sustainable house is a more comfortable home. And you save a lot of money on energy costs. Insulating your roof and floor already makes a big difference. On Verbeterjehuis.nl you can read how you can insulate your house yourself. You will also find other tips there about making your house more sustainable. And yes, some adjustments cost a lot of money. Fortunately, there are subsidies and loans available, often depending on the municipality where you live. You can find more information about this here.
