Dishwashing

One less worry on your plate: By choosing our eco-friendly dishwashing and dishwasher products, you'll never have to worry about harmful substances going down the drain again. In fact, they are packed with natural ingredients and are at least 97% biodegradable! And let's not forget about those fantastic scents... Imagine this: you, your dishes, and the mysterious fragrance of Orange & Jasmine. Or, for those seeking convenience in dishwashing, opt for the dishwasher tablets. That decision might be a tough one...

You only need to add a small amount of dishwashing liquid to the water to get your dishes clean. For an average load of dishes, a teaspoon is sufficient, unless you're doing the dishes for the whole neighborhood, of course. And we understand that last part perfectly, with Marcel's delightful scent combinations that you'd prefer to indulge your nose in all day long!

It's actually quite simple: for each dishwasher cycle, place one dishwasher tablet in the designated compartment of the dishwasher. Be sure to put it in the appropriate slot, as placing the tablet loosely in the machine may cause it to dissolve prematurely and result in less effective cleaning. Good to know: Marcel's dishwasher tablets are packaged in a soluble film. This means you won't need to search for scissors with wet hands to remove the plastic, and it also helps reduce plastic waste. The film is made from cornstarch and dissolves during the washing process. Talk about convenience...

Unlike regular dishwashing liquid, eco-friendly dishwashing liquid contains no harmful synthetic chemicals. Eco-friendly dishwashing liquid is made from plant-based soaps and is gentle on the environment, your home, and your body. In fact, while doing the dishes, the skin on your hands is pampered by the gentle foam and enriching ingredients! Could dishwashing be the new spa experience after all?

Marcel's Green Soap eco-friendly dishwashing liquid is at least 97% biodegradable. You might wonder why it's not 100%, and we'd like to explain that briefly: Biodegradability is the process by which organic compounds, meaning substances containing carbon and hydrogen, are broken down by the natural ('biological') activity of microorganisms, among other factors. All organic compounds in Marcel's Green Soap products are ultimately 100% biodegradable. However, our products often contain salts. These salts are used to adjust the pH, dissolve dirt, and thicken the products. Salts are not biodegradable, which is why we state 97%. Now that we've clarified that, you might also appreciate knowing that we use bottles made from 100% recycled plastic for our dishwashing liquid. This helps reduce the vast amount of plastic in circulation. So, please remember to dispose of the bottle in the plastic recycling bin when it's empty. It will eventually return to our bottle manufacturer through the recycling chain.

It depends a bit on your dishwashing habits! If the water for your hand washing comes from an electric hot water appliance, you pre-rinse with a lot of hot water, or you wash under a continuously running faucet, then a dishwasher is more environmentally friendly. Why? The environmental impact of dishwashing primarily lies in heating the water, which requires gas or electricity. The effects of water usage and dishwasher or dishwashing detergent are comparatively less significant. So, the old-fashioned hand washing method isn't as bad as you might think! Marcel also believes that old-fashioned hand washing is the most satisfying. That's when you truly feel in control of the dirt. But we also understand those who prefer convenience, which is why you can find dishwasher tablets from us. However, they are packed with natural ingredients and are at least 97% biodegradable. Here's a little tip from Marcel: if you belong to the latter group, use your dishwasher's eco-program!
