How green is your bathroom? And no, we're not talking about a lick of paint! With a green bathroom we of course mean an eco-friendly bathroom. Because even though the bathroom may be a small space, you can make a big impact by making it greener. And that's a lot less difficult than you think. With a few small adjustments you're already there! Marcel has 4 tips for you.
#1 SHORTER SHOWER
We understand that you sometimes lose track of time when you're having a nice shower. But it's not good for the planet! Shorten your shower time by setting a timer (and sticking to it ;) 5 minutes is long enough. Difficult for you? Make it a challenge and challenge yourself to take shorter showers each time. It's even better for your wallet!
#2 GREEN CLEANING
Stop cleaning your bathroom with aggressive, harmful stuff, and use biodegradable cleaning products. Every week, millions of litres of cleaning products are flushed down the drain. And every week, millions of plastic bottles end up in the environment. That has to change. Marcel knows an address for sustainable cleaning products ;)
#3 ZERO WASTE PRODUCTS
Only choose zero-waste products such as plastic-free soap bars, reusable cotton pads, biodegradable dental floss - you name it! Did you know that Marcel also sells a few plastic-free products? For example, you can now find a plastic-free deodorant , shampoo bar , body bar and soon also a conditioner bar in our range.
#4 BRUSHING GREEN TEETH
Yep: you can also brush your teeth greener! This can even be done in 2 ways. You probably use several toothbrushes per year. By replacing these with bamboo toothbrushes, you immediately contribute to greening the bathroom. Bamboo is a very sustainable material. It is biodegradable and hygienic. The second way is the toothpaste you use.
“Every year, 1.5 billion toothpaste tubes end up in our landfills and oceans.”
People who brush their teeth twice a day use an average of one tube of toothpaste per month. And that tube is made of plastic. Every year, 1.5 billion toothpaste tubes end up in our landfills and oceans. This can and must change. How? With toothpaste tabs from Smyle. These are 100% plastic-free and come in a glass bottle. And don't worry: these tabs work just as well as toothpaste from a tube.
