It may sound crazy, but Black Friday is the time to think about consuming more consciously. Because let's be honest, does all those bargains really make you happier?! Certainly not the planet. And that is why we are organizing Marcel's Green Week from November 21 to 27, 2022, in which everything revolves around sustainable consumption. Just read:
Marcel's Green Week
Buy, buy, buy. In fact, Black Friday is no longer relevant these days. At least, that's what we think. On this day everything revolves around consumption, while we should actually cut back a bit. All those bargains tempt us to buy things that we don't actually need and that are harmful to the environment. For this black shopping day, many additional products are produced, which also have to be transported by plane, boat or truck.
Fortunately, more and more companies are turning against this American concept. For example, Dille & Kamille will even close its doors and webshop on Black Friday this year. Other companies opt for Green Friday as a response and to pay extra attention to more conscious consumption. For example, by supporting green initiatives or by offering eco-friendly products at a discount. Because if we still want to buy, choose sustainable products.
At Marcel's Green Soap it is not Black Friday, not Green Friday, but Marcel's Green Week. From November 21 to 27, 2022 you will have the opportunity to shop our eco-friendly detergents, cleaning products and care products with a 25% discount. This way you buy something that is really useful to you, without putting additional burden on the environment.

5 tips for consuming more sustainably
Tip #1. Shop consciously
Before every purchase moment, ask yourself: do I really need it? Perhaps not a favorite question, but it does save you a lot of clutter in your home and by consuming more consciously, you reduce your footprint.
Tip #2. Go green
Sometimes you have to do some searching, but for almost every product there is a sustainable or more sustainable alternative. These are generally products made from organic, renewable and/or recycled raw materials. This also applies to Marcel's Green Soap products. These are 100% vegan, at least 97% biodegradable, plastic-free packaged or packaged in recycled plastic and palm oil-free where possible.
Tip #3. Choose quality
Cheap is expensive and also extra damaging to the environment. Therefore, choose quality instead. That cheap sweater may look great on the hook, but after three wears it's ready to go. And everything that goes into the trash is a huge burden on the environment.
Tip #4. Buy second hand
Before you buy something new, first check the thrift store, Marktplaats or Vinted to see if it is also offered second-hand. Many (quality) items deserve a second life!
Tip #5. Borrow, share or rent items
More and more online 'libraries' are emerging for renting, borrowing or sharing baby equipment, for example tinylibrary.nl ), cars (eg snappcar.nl ), boats (including barqo.nl ), clothing (eg lena-library.com/ ) and more . These sharing initiatives ensure that optimal use is made of existing consumer goods, meaning that fewer new products need to be produced. Better for the environment and - not unimportant in these expensive times - your wallet.
