SMALL PIECES OF PLASTIC: A BIG PROBLEM
Microplastics are found everywhere: in oceans, soil, surface water and our food. Bizarre, right? Recently, scientists have even identified the tiny bits of plastic found in the human body . How harmful the presence of the particles is, is still unknown. But the presence itself is not such a nice idea.
MICROPLASTICS IN DETERGENT, CLEANING & CARE PRODUCTS
The fact that microplastics end up in nature, our food and our bodies through the breakdown of larger plastic products is already not good. But the fact that microplastics are deliberately added to the products we use is completely wrong. And usually these minuscule pieces of plastic do not even have a function. Microplastics are often added to make a product look 'better'. For example, some brands give their detergents a milky colour because this is supposed to be nicer. And that colour is caused by an ingredient made of microplastics. Completely unnecessary if you ask us. Or do you think the colour of your detergent is important? ;) No matter how you look at it: it is completely unnecessary and therefore high time that brands stop doing this.
